Education - Kings Court

This activity will show students what life at court was like using Court costumes and focussing on specific roles in the court of Henry VIII.

Life at Court can be contrasted with the life of the nobility outside court, and with the life of people at other layers of Tudor society, merchants, craftsmen and farm labourers. The duties of courtiers are covered together with the benefits of being a courtier. Optionally, the risks of life at court can be covered.

Specific areas that can be covered are:

• food and dining at court
• pastimes at court with focus on dance
• moving the court
• Tudor palace buildings
